What Is a Route Table?

A Route Table is an AWS networking component that controls where network traffic is sent within a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). It contains a set of rules called routes.

Each route tells AWS where to send traffic, such as to another subnet, an Internet Gateway, a NAT Gateway, or a Virtual Private Gateway. Every subnet must be associated with a route table.

In simple words, a Route Table acts like a roadmap for your VPC, directing network traffic to the correct destination.
